Every Fourth of July we celebrate our nation's birth with fireworks but did you know there is a parade of free and discount offers to help you party on your B-day? From ways to make a child's special day even more memorable to money-saving celebratory dinners for grownups, it is easy to take advantage of these special offers we’ve listed below.
We recommend when taking advantage of these offers you: call ahead to make sure your local store or business offers or accepts the promotion, bring your ID or proof of birthday along with a printout of the offer, and inform your server, cashier or salesperson before the check comes or the sale is rung up. Some businesses need time to add you to their birthday clubs and you may need to sign up several weeks before the big day.

- Enroll your child for free in Geoffrey's Birthday Club at Toys "R" Us and each year until your child turns 10, the store's mascot, Geoffrey the giraffe, will send a free card or call on the phone with birthday congratulations. Birthday Club members who visit a Toys "R" Us on their birthday receive a free crown and balloon as well as the opportunity to hear an in-store announcement over the speaker that a lucky kid is celebrating a birthday.
- Children under 13 may join the Burger King Club BK Birthday Club at no cost and each year they will receive a coupon via email for a free BK Kids Meal.
- What's a birthday without ice cream? Anyone age 13 or older can join the Dairy Queen Blizzard Fan Club and receive a buy-one get-one free coupon for a blizzard. Throughout the year, members receive monthly e-mails containing new treat promotions, flavor updates and contests.
- Start your birthday morning off right with a free Grand Slam breakfast of pancakes, bacon, eggs and sausage at Denny's restaurants.
- Stretch out your celebration by joining the Chef's Table at Benihana and you'll receive a coupon for $30 off a meal on any Monday-Thursday during the month of your birthday. The coupon doesn't include alcoholic beverages, tax or tip.
- Call ahead to Morton's The Steakhouse and you will receive a specialized menu with your name printed on it as well as a free photo of you and your dining companions.
- After all that free birthday food, you will need a new pair of shoes to walk it off. Join the DSW Rewards Program and if you shop at the shoe retailer within the year, you'll receive a $5 off coupon for your birthday.
J.C. Penney Rewards Program also offers birthday savings coupons good for any purchase. - Don't forget to ask about birthday deals at locally owned and operated stores and restaurants. Many beauty salons, liquor stores, car washes and other businesses are happy to make your day special with a free or discount offer.
